Epic win

This is against the Chess Titans AI at level 6. Note that the only captures in the game were a single exchange of pawns.

I think my favorite part is how I would lose my queen if I wasn't winning right now.

That's always my favorite way to win too. :)

I do that rather a lot, especially against this AI, in order to free my rooks to support an early kingside attack. It's a variant of the stonewall attack, which works very well against AIs and low-to-mid-level humans, but never shows up in championship play because there's a known counter. It just worked particularly well in this game.

i know the stonewall well. Funny that it works well against AI.

If you're playing a human, what are your favorite openings?

Formal openings are one of the major weaknesses of my chess game, as I've never had the patience to make a formal study of them.

I'm fond of queen-pawn games as white, as they tend to work well with my preference to defend in the center and attack on the flanks. I'll usually work vaguely towards a colle system.

As black, if white starts with the queen's pawn I'll develop towards a queen's-pawn system; if white starts with the king's pawn I'll develop towards something like four knights; and if white starts with a fianchetto, I'll develop my center in order to block the fianchettoed bishop.
